I hear from clients all the time that they were so worried about booking the wrong cruise and had many concerns. Here are the most common ones to be considered.

Cruising does offer tremendous value but you have to be careful to fully understand what’s included and what isn’t. Every cruise line has it’s own version of “All-Inclusive” and this can vary with stateroom category too. Drinks packages, premium dining, shore excursions, WI-FI and more all add to the complication. concerning unwanted worry about the final bill.

With over 40 cruise lines and 100’s of ships to pick from, fully understanding how what that means for your holiday can be a minefield. There certainly is a cruise for everyone because of the amount of choice available. Do you prefer big ships with even bigger entertainment with big crowds or smaller, more intimate even formal ones. Dining options, let alone food choice can also make or break, from buffets, to the Captains table, anytime to set-time, allocated to roaming, its all a consideration.

Once again the sheer variety of size, quality, service and price is no more apparent than where you chose to lay your head after an action packed day or a pampered day of being spoilt rotten. Again there are big variations from line to line and even within every ship. From 185s sq ft inside rooms to 4000+ sq ft owners suites every traveller and pocket is catered for. Assessing availability and finding the right one for you, in the best locations can be very time consuming. Many a cruise of a lifetime has been marred by being in a stateroom directly under or above a very busy and active deck.

Not every travel agent has access to the whole cruise market and many will have sales target and incentives. This may cause the customers needs not to be met as the agent will focus on their needs rather than their client. Is the agent more concerned about their commission than listening to the customer? Being on the wrong cruise is never a good deal no matter the price. Unlike some travel agents, I can’t claim to have twenty years in a high street store or even fifteen years in the travel industry as a rep or flight attendant but I do have over thirty years of putting the customer first, of thinking of their needs, their values and delivering the very best value and service.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve certainly travelled, visited Australia, Dubai, California. Florida (40 times) with GO Florida magazine, Greek Islands and experienced Las Vegas more times than I should have ! I have driven in excess of one and half million miles and have an A level in geography too.
I am able to retain information fairly easily, love research and getting good value has been ingrained in me from a young age as has looking after others. I’ve volunteered, mentored, sold workwear at car boots cheap to help workers, had dinner with chief ICI buyer at the height of their power, drank coffee at the home of famous Hollywood film directors and swept water away to allow fans to attend a game at my beloved Northampton Town.
